Navigating around the map works the same as many other interactive maps (e.g. Google Maps) you may have used in the past.
To pan the map to a different location, use the click-and-drag method:
- Click: Left-click on the map.
- Drag: Hold the left mouse button and drag your mouse to move the map in the desired direction.
- Release: Let go of the mouse button once you've positioned the map where you want it.
The overview map allows you to pan to a new location by moving the extent box.
There are a few different options for zooming the map.
- Scroll the mouse wheel to zoom the map in or out
- Use the plus and minus buttons in the upper right corner of the map
- Double click to zoom the map in
- Hold down shift on your keyboard and draw a box around the area you would like to zoom to
The geolocate button will zoom the map to your current location.
You can use the search tool in the upper right hand corner of the map to zoom to your location of interest.
By default, the tool searches by Field Name. You can change this behavior by clicking on the gear icon and selecting a different search mode.
Seach by Field Name
- Shows all fields in your plan that have an associated geometry
- Field names are affected by the layer settings that are assigned to the fields layer in the layers panel
- For example, if you are filtering by subfarm, only fields in that subfarm will appear in the search bar
- If you have many fields in your plan, it may be helpful to start typing the name of the field you are searching for to filter the list of options
Search by Address
- Allows you to search by address, municipality, or county name
- Start typing the location into the search box to see suggestions
Search by Township
- Helps you locate a specifc township, range, and section
- The autocomplete expects a format like [township]N [range][direction] S[section number]
