The copy field button on the overview tab of the fields page allows you to make a copy of a field. When you copy a field, all associated information will also be copied, such as the field boundaries, cropping information, and applications.

The copy field button is also useful for splitting and merging fields.
- From the "overview" tab on the "fields" page, click the "Copy Field" button
- Name the newly created copied field
- Optional - If you wish to keep a copy of the original field before it was split, make another copy of the field and set the original field to inactive

- Go to the maps tab and edit the two newly created fields' boundaries
V3 does not have a dedicated tool for merging fields. Until a dedicated feature is released, fields can be merged using the copy field button.
- It is not possible to merge two different cropping histories, so first you must decide which field's history you want to apply to the newly merged field
- Use the "Copy field" button on the fields overview tab to make a copy of the field whose cropping history you want to keep
- If you also need to combine the fields' soil samples, you'll need to reimport the samples for the field whose cropping history you aren't keeping
- Go to soil tests tab and export the soil test import template
- Go to reports tab and select the FM6 report. Set the report format to Excel and check the box to "Include samples". Download the report.
- Find the field whose samples need to be added to the newly merged field and copy the samples into the soil test import template. Note that the order of the columns in the FM6 report don't match the order of the columns in the soil test import template. Make sure that you are transferring the columns correctly.
- Change the name of the field in the soil test import template to match the name of your newly merged field.
- Go to the soil tests tab and compare the names of samples you're importing to the samples that already exist on the merged field. If any samples have the same name and test date, you'll need to assign a new name to the samples you are importing.
- If you skip this step, your merged field sample data will be overwritten when you import.
- On the field overview tab, set the two fields you are merging to inactive

- Go to the map and edit your newly created field boundary to match the extent of the merged fields
