¶ Overview
Databases converted prior to 12/13/2025 are affected by a bug that miscategorized tile inlets and outlets as the opposite feature. It will be necessary to manually fix these inlets and outlets by reimporting a shapefile. Choose one of the options below to fix the problem. ¶ Reimporting tile points using SnapPlus
You will need to reconvert the original database and overwrite the incorrect tile points with the newly converted tile points.
- Upload the original snapDb file as a new conversion into SnapPlus V3
- Navigate to the maps tab
- Open the import/export tool
- Export Tile Inlets and Outlets
- Open the V3 database with the incorrect tile points
- Open the import/export shapefile tool
- Import the new shapefile. Toggle on the option to overwrite current map data. Note: this will delete all existing tile points. If you have made a lot of edits to tile points since first converting, reach out to support@snapplus.wisc.edu and we can work with you to preserve your edits.
¶ Reimporting tile points using GIS
If you are familiar with GIS software, then you can simply edit the point types and reimport the shapefile.
- Open the V3 database with the incorrect tile points
- Navigate to the maps tab
- Open the import/export tool
- Export Tile Inlets and Outlets
- Add the exported shapefile to your GIS system and edit all the rows with a type of 25 to be type 30 and vice versa. Note that if you've added any points since first converting your database, then do not change the type of those points. They should already be correct.
- Import the updated shapefile. Toggle on the option to overwrite current map data.
